On April 4, 1890, the great-grandfather Salvatore Marogna was born in Sorso into a family of farmers. In 1937-38 he planted a vineyard in the locality of “Tres Montes”, ploughed with a yoke of oxen, after a long work of deforestation from the palm groves that proliferated in those lands. This vineyard, characterized by different varieties of clones, is the beginning of the history of this farm. Over time, first father Salvatore (J) and then the current generation, have refined the techniques, with the production of wines in biodynamic balance. In 2010 they acquired the land of Badde Pira, with an extension of over 4 hectares, which today constitutes the central nucleus of the farm. Here in 2011-12 they planted Moscato bianco di Sorso, Cannonau, Vermentino and Cagnulari vines. The “Guyot” technique was adopted in the vineyard (1.10 m inter-row and 2.20 m inter-row). The processes of pruning, detachment of the shoots, suckering and green pruning are mainly carried out manually, while only organic pellets are used for fertilizing. During the harvest, the bunches are placed manually in crates. The must is transferred to containers, where fermentation and decanting take place naturally.
