The story of Varvaglione 1921 begins in Leporano, on the outskirts of Taranto, where wine has been made for over a hundred years. The story behind the name Varvaglione 1921 is of a family and a winery that speaks of Puglia in the world, having made Primitivo di Manduria their standard-bearer. Under the guidance of Cosimo and Maria Teresa Varvaglione, the baton passed to the fourth generation of the family – Marzia, Angelo and Francesca – who faced the third millennium with the same grit and optimism that characterized their grandparents and great-grandparents. The vision of the Varvaglione family is of a sustainable future. For this reason Cosimo Varvaglione has made use of the collaboration of prestigious universities in monitoring the vineyards, in the name of rigour in the care of the vineyard and respect for the environment. Today Varvaglione 1921 is also certified as a Sustainable Winery by Equalitas. The cellar has always integrated innovative production methods without ever forgetting the traditions.
