The wine history of Tenute Invidia, strongly marked by territory and family, is recent but has much more distant roots: we are in the 70s when Antonio, owner of Tenute Invidia, was a child. With his mother, Rosina, riding a scooter, he travelled along the State Road 16 between San Pietro Vernotico and Brindisi to reach Aldo, his father, struggling with his only hectare of vineyard near the San Paolo district. To keep him company only Stelluccio, a faithful horse and workmate, even before the first Pasquali tractor was purchased a few years later. His father’s passion prompted Antonio to undertake the profession of winegrower. So at 19, after his military service, he rented his first vineyard in the “Casedda” area in San Pietro Vernotico. Today, the estates are made up of approximately 13 hectares of native Negroamaro, Primitivo, Verdeca and the international Syrah vineyards, grown using the espalier and sapling system and located between the municipalities of San Pietro Vernotico and Torchiarolo, ancient Messapian lands. In 2020, thanks to the determination of the sons Aldo, Gianmarco and Pierfrancesco, the idea of giving a shape to this vocation was born: a bottle.
