The history of this farm began in the 70s of the last century in a village of very ancient origins, Volturino, in the splendid landscape of the Dauno Subappennino, in the province of Foggia. The vineyard is located at an average height of 700 metres above sea level. The Tenuta Planisium farm takes its name from an archaeological excavation that brought to light the remains of a Roman villa during the 1950s in Selva Piana, in the immediate vicinity of the estate; in this context, they decided to specialize and devote themselves completely to the cultivation of grapes. In the current headquarters, they begin a path of innovation led them towards a modernization of the technologies adopted, an expansion of the area dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards which increased from 6 to 12 hectares, up to the construction of the new gravitational and eco-sustainable cellar open and welcoming for all Apulian wine tourists. The building where the wine production activities are located today has been modernized with the idea of embracing a concept of environmentally sustainable production of organic wine, respecting nature and the surrounding area.
