The third edition of Best Wine Stars welcomed companies from Italy and abroad, attracting great attention and interest from more than 3,500 visitors, who actively participated in the event, recording more than 20,000 tastings.
The 2022 edition also opened its doors to spirits and food companies, hosting 200 companies, more than double the number of the previous edition, from all over Italy and other countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, France and Tasmania, with more than 2,000 labels for tasting and selected high quality food and wine products.
The choice of the location was also new, Palazzo del Ghiaccio which with a total area of over 5000 square meters made it possible to create an elegant, unique environment favourable for interaction between all those present.
Masterclasses
To enrich the already extensive two-day programme with in-depth moments, 12 Masterclasses were held in the impressive Sala Piranesi, allowing participants to enrich their knowledge of the latest products on the market.
As many as 11 vertical tastings were organised by Tenute d’Italia, Conte Leopardi, Massucco Champagne, Casa Vinicola Fazio, Valdo Spumanti, Rete del Pinot Bianco, Abraxas and Sensi 1890.
There were 3 group tastings with different themes: Sapori e Aromi (imparare l’arte dell’abbinamento a tavola) – Flavors and Aromas (learning the art of pairing at the table), Winetelling (raccontare il vino nel 2022) – Winetelling (winetelling in 2022) and I vini nascono dalla terra (viaggio in un territorio unico nel suo genere, l’Italia) – Wines are born from the earth (journey in a unique territory of its kind, Italy).
Speakers
Leading the tastings were some of the major experts in the world of Italian wine such as Adua Villa, winewriter and digital entrepreneur, Livia Berardelli editor of Puntarella Rossa, Valentina Vercelli editor of La Cucina Italiana, Francesco Quarna speaker at Radio Deejay and winemaker and Alberto Lupetti, journalist and speaker specialising in champagneBulichella was awarded the Best Red Wine for the label Coldipietrerosse 2017. Albino Armani Viticoltori dal 1607 was awarded the Best White Wine with the Pinot Grigio Colle Ara 2021 label. COL Vetoraz Spumanti Spa was awarded the Best Sparkling Wine for the label Cuvee Ø.
Two companies were also awarded for their communication and marketing work, impressing the jury with the creativity shown in their choice of branding: Varani Spirit Srl was awarded the Best Logo, its name and image is inspired by Varano of Komodo and Azienda Agr. La Palerna Di Biagioli Paola was awarded the Best Label for the label Cospaia 1441.
Tenuta Sant’Antonio was awarded the Landini Prize presented by Massimo Vegro, Area Sales Manager Argo Tractors.

At the end of the event, all the labels presented were put on sale on the e-commerce platform www.bestwinestars.com: the perfect opportunity for those who were unable to purchase their favourite wines at the venue.
