Six hundred labels, over one hundred wineries (thirty more than in 2018) and 15,000 tastings for the second edition of Best Wine Stars. The best of Italian oenology met in Milan, on the occasion of the second edition of Best Wine Stars. The tasting event brought together, from Saturday 4 to Monday 6 May, wineries from all over the Peninsula, who presented their wines at the Rotonda della Besana, in the Piazza Cinque Giornate area.
MASTERCLASSES
On both days, six guided tastings with different themes were offered: these ranged from the fizzes of Sparkling Dress to the rosé wines of Think Pink, passing from the organic wines of Green is the new Black to the very entertaining and enthralling Wine Show with Vinhood. Finally, there were vertical tastings of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG by the Valdo Spumanti winery and the Consorzio Tutela Vini Lugana.

Leading the tastings were some of the major experts in the world of Italian wine such as Adua Villa, food and wine expert and writer, Stefania Vinciguerra, editor-in-chief of Doctorwine, Chiara Giovoni, Ambassadeur du Champagne CIVC for Italy, Emanuele Gobbi, editor of Spirito DiVino and James Magazine, Livia Berardelli, editor of Doctorwine, and the Vinhood team, Digital Startup.
AWARDS
The Best Sparkling Wine was awarded to Valdo Spumanti for its Prosecco Superiore Docg Brut Nature Millesimato ‘Rive di San Pietro di Barbozza’. The Best Red Wine was awarded to Azienda agricola Elena Fucci with its ‘Titolo’, Aglianico del Vulture. The Best White Wine was awarded to the Sicilian Fazio Wines with ‘Aegades’, 100% Grillo. Azienda agricola Petrini was awarded the Best Label with ‘Portami al mare’, Pecorino from organic farming; Donna Viola was awarded the Best Logo.

At the end of the event, all the labels presented were put on sale on the e-commerce platform www.bestwinestars.com: the perfect opportunity for those who were unable to purchase their favourite wines at the venue.
