Arrived in Sardinia for the first time about 20 years ago, for Dmitry and Ludmilla it was love at first sight. So, 10 years later, they decided to move permanently from Latvia to Sardinia, on a fascinating cliff in the north of the island. After a few years of living in Sardinia, the almost fortuitous discovery of a magical place, of dazzling beauty, with a vineyard in the centre with almost forty-year-old vines, a real rarity now in Gallura. An accidental discovery which, as in the best films, becomes the beginning of a fascinating and compelling story. In 2019 they bought the vineyard with a beautiful name, Cumitasanna, in the locality of San Leonardo, in the municipality of Sant’Antonio di Gallura, 8 hectares at almost 300 m above sea level. The vineyard is surrounded by a charming and typical Sardinian scrub; the old vines, all of Vermentino obviously, have their roots in the granite that strongly characterizes these terroirs. Granito and Vermentino… Vermentino and granite …and a lot of heart, this is what Cumitasanna is made of.
