1838 – Francesco Miotto’s ancestors settle on Col Vetoraz, alongside Mont di Cartizze, developing the cultivation of vines right from their arrival. 1918 – Col Vetoraz, which became the base of the Austro-Hungarian command due to its dominant position, suffers heavy bombardments from the Italian front on the Piave. With difficulty, the Miotto family repaired the wounds of the Great War and continued the cultivation of the vine. 1980 – Francesco Miotto at the age of 29, upon the premature death of his father, takes responsibility for the company and begins to produce the first bottles with the traditional “bottomed” method. 1993 – From a precise idea of excellence, Francesco Miotto, Paolo De Bortoli and Loris Dall’Acqua found Col Vetoraz Spumanti. We immediately defined our mission: to honor this generous and unique territory in the world, we should have created only wines of the highest quality.
