Calafè testifies by itself to the simple but powerful emotional drive that motivated Petrillo, an expert in publishing, but attentive lover of the Irpinia territories that have always been chosen by nature to produce Greek and Aglianico, to found a unique winery of its kind: small, for a precise control of the vinification, concentrated, for a high quality regime and biologically and productively correct. Calafè derives from the names of his nieces: Camilla, Laura and Federica. Since the beginning they have started the production of a Greco di Tufo whose organoleptic reliefs, despite the differences due to the climatic specificities, possess elements that allow them to be connoted. The shoulder, endowed with great acidity, and the considerable alcohol content represent olfactory elements, closer to citrus, as occurred particularly in the most significant years with more fatty tones, or to the prevailing minerality as in most of the vintages. Over the years they have completed the qualitative framework in a very decisive way, allowing the farm to achieve a series of awards.
