Antica Focacceria S. Francesco represents, without a doubt, the origin of the organized diffusion of street food in the city of Palermo. For 189 years it has been involved in making known to Sicilians and customers scattered throughout the world the most renowned specialities of the island capital: pani ca’ meusa, panelle, cazzilli, sfincione, crocché di latte, but also arancini, beccafico sardines, aubergine caponata, cannoli and many other specialties of popular Sicilian cuisine. The main activity carried out in various cities of the Peninsula, including Milan, in via S. Paolo, a stone’s throw from the Duomo and the District Centre City Life, is joined by another of itinerant type that stops off in the most beautiful squares in Italy, contributing significantly to ensuring that Palermo is counted among the first cities in the world in the international panorama of street food. Antica Focacceria S. Francesco is a member of Addiopizzo and of the Association of Historic Places of Italy. Many of the ingredients used to make the products are purchased from companies with a very strong ethical value and linked to critical consumption.
